FAQ

How do I import files? On the library screen, tap + (Add books) and choose File, Folder, or Google Drive. You can import comics packed as ZIP, CBZ, RAR, CBR, or 7z, PDFs, and text or document files. Imported books are copied onto your device, and a book that is already in your library is not added twice.

What does Google Drive access cover? When you sign in with your Google account under Add books > Google Drive, the app can download only the files you pick yourself in Google’s file picker. It cannot see your other Drive files or folder lists, and it never edits or deletes anything. Picked files go straight to your device, not to our servers. Drive is optional; everything else works without it. You can revoke access any time in your Google Account permissions. If a download fails, the app may ask you to sign in again; do so, or check your network connection.

How do I use Read aloud? It is silent or says a voice is missing. Open a book and tap Read aloud. In Voice settings you can choose a voice and the speed. If the app says a voice is missing, download one for that language: on iPhone and iPad under Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices, on Android in your device’s voice (text-to-speech) settings. A PDF with no text, such as scanned images, cannot be read aloud.

How do I get the natural voice? Where your device supports it, Natural reading appears under Read aloud in the app’s Settings. It is an AI voice that reads like a person; you download its voice files once (the size is shown, and Wi-Fi is recommended). For a language it does not support yet, or when it is too slow on your device, the app reads with your current voice instead. To free space, use Delete voice files; you will need to download them again to use it later.

How do I back up and restore? Under Settings > Data, use Export data to create a backup file, then Import data on a new device or after reinstalling. A backup holds your reading positions, highlights, collections, and app settings. It does not contain the book files, so import your books again; the saved positions and highlights are then applied to them. Items whose books are not in the library yet wait as “pending” and apply once you import the book; Clear waiting restores in Settings removes them. If a backup needs a newer version of the app, update first and import again.

How do I delete my data? Deleting a book from the library removes it and also deletes the copy stored on your device and its reading position. Deleting the app removes the library, settings, and Google sign-in information stored on your device. Usage statistics and crash logs are sent to Firebase without your name or email; to ask us to delete or look up data, email us at the address above. See the Privacy Policy for details.
