SecondTV
Turn the dial, change the channel.
SecondTV bundles YouTube videos into channels and plays them back to back, like a TV. No searching for what to watch: leave it on, the way you would a TV.
Channels you flip with a dial
Topic channels such as Trending, Music, Gaming, Sports and Entertainment come built in. Drag up or down anywhere on the screen or turn the dial to change channels, and when a video ends the next one on the same channel follows on its own.
Your own lineup
Search for channels you like, add them and reorder them. Bookmark videos you enjoy and watch them again in the bookmarks channel. SecondTV can also build recommended channels from what you watch most, using only the last three weeks of watch history kept on your device.
A screen that feels like TV
Channel info, a scrolling ticker and a NEXT card for the following video always sit below the picture. Hide the controls and the video fills the screen. TV static plays while you switch channels, and a clock, the weather and a calendar show while it rests.
On any screen
The layout adapts to iPhone and iPad, portrait and landscape. On a foldable iPhone, the video and controls are arranged to suit the unfolded, half-folded and outer screens.
Link a Google account (optional)
Link one to watch your subscribed channels, subscription feed, playlists and liked videos as channels. You can unlink at any time in Settings, and unlinking removes the account data from your device.
Processed on your device
Stays on your device
- Channel lineup and bookmarks: information received from YouTube is kept for at most 30 days, then refreshed or deleted.
- Watch history and resume positions: at most 30 days. Watch events used for recommended channels are kept for 21 days (three weeks), and videos from kids' content and from the bookmarks channel are not recorded.
- Google account credentials (token): stored in this device's Keychain, for this device only, until you unlink.
- Clear watch history, clear saved channel lists or unlink the Google account in Settings at any time. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device.
Leaves your device
- Video playback (YouTube API Services): the app loads video and channel information and plays videos in the YouTube player. The YouTube Terms of Service apply, and information handled by YouTube and Google follows the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google account link (optional): only the basic profile and read-only YouTube access are requested, and the app writes nothing to your YouTube account. Account information is not sent to the developer or to any analytics tool.
- Weather (optional): only if you allow location, and only while the app is in use, coordinates are sent to the Open-Meteo weather service to get the current weather. Your location is not stored.
- Crash reports and usage statistics (Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics): crash and performance information, feature usage events, device model, OS version, approximate country (from IP) and the Firebase app instance ID. Name, email, location, the advertising identifier, and YouTube data such as the videos, channels and searches you watch are not collected.
- None of this is used to identify you, to track you across other apps or websites, or for advertising. The developer does not sell your information or give it to third parties; the only information handled elsewhere is what the services named above (Google and YouTube, Open-Meteo, Firebase) process under their own policies.
