SecondTV Terms of Use
Effective date Previous version
These terms set out the conditions for using the SecondTV app (the “App”) provided by Fastutle (“we” or “us”). By downloading or using the App you agree to these terms. The terms of the App Store, where you downloaded the App, also apply.
1. The service
- The App lets you turn a dial to flip through YouTube video channels, like a TV. It offers channel editing and bookmarks, resuming where you left off, the optional Google account connection (to watch your account’s channels, such as your subscriptions), and weather on the idle screen.
- You can use the App without signing up, and we do not run any server that receives or stores your information.
- Videos are provided by YouTube; we do not create or manage them. The features available to you may differ by device, iOS version and app version.
2. Use of the App and prohibited conduct
- We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App for your personal use in accordance with these terms.
- You must not:
- use the App in a way that violates the law;
- use the App in a way the YouTube Terms of Service prohibit (for example, downloading, copying or distributing videos, or circumventing YouTube’s playback restrictions or ads);
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except where the law allows it;
- circumvent the App’s security features, or interfere with the normal operation of the App or the services it connects to;
- copy or modify the App to distribute or sell it.
- If your prohibited conduct causes damage to us or to others, you may be liable for it under the law.
3. Intellectual property
- The rights in the App’s software, design, name, logo and text belong to us or to their rightful owners. These terms give you the right to use the App; they do not transfer those rights to you.
- The rights in YouTube content you watch in the App, such as videos and channel names and images, belong to YouTube and the respective rights holders.
- Open-source components included in the App are governed by their own licences. The list is available on the open-source licences page of this site.
4. Your content
- Your channel lineup, bookmarks and watch history are stored only on your device and are not sent to us. You can clear them at any time in the App’s settings.
- You decide which channels to add and which videos to watch, and you are responsible for that use. We do not review or vouch for the contents of YouTube videos.
5. Third-party services
- The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its provider’s terms and privacy policy.
- YouTube API Services and the YouTube player: loading video and channel information, and playing videos
- Google account (Google OAuth, optional): watching your account’s channels
- Open-Meteo (optional): weather information when you allow location access
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics): usage statistics and crash reports
- App Store: distribution and updates of the App
- We do not operate these third-party services. If a service changes or stops, the App features that rely on it may not work.
- How the App handles information is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. YouTube and your Google account
- YouTube API Services: The App uses YouTube API Services. By using the App you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Information processed by YouTube and Google is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
- SecondTV is not made or endorsed by YouTube or Google. Some videos may not play in the App because of the uploader’s settings or regional restrictions; the App skips them.
- Connecting a Google account (optional): When you connect a Google account in the App’s settings, the App requests your basic profile (name, email address, profile picture) and read-only access to your YouTube account through Google OAuth. It uses this access to show your subscribed channels, subscription feed, playlists and liked videos as channels, and it never writes to or changes your YouTube account. Without connecting, you can still watch the default channels and any channels you add yourself.
- Disconnecting: Tapping “Disconnect Google account” (Google 계정 연결 해제) in the App’s settings revokes the access token and deletes the account data stored on your device. You can also remove the App’s access at any time in your Google account permissions.
7. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
- The App is provided as is. We do not warrant that the App will work without interruption or error on every device, that any particular video or channel will always be available, that weather information is accurate, or that it fits any particular purpose of yours.
- We are not liable for the following damage, except damage caused by our intent or gross negligence:
- damage caused by events beyond our control, such as natural disasters or network failures;
- damage caused by problems with your device, its operating system or third-party services such as YouTube, Google or Open-Meteo;
- damage caused by your breach of these terms or by a failure to look after your device and data;
- disputes between you and others over the contents of YouTube videos or your viewing of them.
- This section does not limit the rights the applicable law guarantees you, and it does not apply to any liability of ours that the law does not allow us to exclude.
8. Changes and termination
- We may add, change or remove features of the App through updates.
- When we change these terms, we post the changes and their effective date on this page at least 7 days before they take effect, or at least 30 days before for changes that are unfavourable to you or otherwise significant. If you do not agree to the changed terms, you can stop using the App and delete it; if you keep using the App after the effective date, you are deemed to have agreed to the changed terms.
- We may stop distributing or updating the App, and if we do, we will announce it on this site in advance where possible.
- You can stop using the App at any time by disconnecting your Google account and deleting the App.
9. Governing law and jurisdiction
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- We will first try to resolve any dispute about the App amicably through the contact below. If legal action is needed, it is brought before the court that has jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea.
- If the consumer protection laws of the country where you live give you mandatory rights that are more favourable to you, this section does not exclude them.
